In 1980, two families from America were sent by Gospel Outreach to plant a church here in the UK. Later on in 1996 the church merged with Brook Fellowship to become Northfield Christian Fellowship.

In April 2002 Ted and Dawn Lubin and their three sons, Alex, Jean-Christophe, and Nicholas became the lead couple for the congregation. The Lubins are graduates of Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, OK. USA. Their life as full time ministers started in 1990. They served as Associate Pastors at Northwest Christian Centre in Oklahoma City, and at Bible Temple in Colorado. They went to Africa where they spent many years as missionaries and church planters in Cote d’Ivoire, the Indian Ocean islands and South Africa. Before coming to the UK they were part of the ministry team of The Church of The Good Shepherd, a large church in Durban South Africa relating to the New Covenant Ministries International Apostolic team.
